AWARDS COMMITTEE PAGE

According to the Bylaws and Constitution of the AWEA, the purpose of the awards committee is to recommend to the Board of Directors the awards for those members who are worthy of the honor. What a fun job it is, to be the person to give deserving members the pat on the back they deserve for a job well done. It is a privilege to serve in this way.

It is my goal this year, to place a greater emphasis on the awards process to ensure that deserving candidates are recognized. In our line of work, we are more often receiving criticism than compliments, so when a co-worker is found to be doing a good job, let’s be sure to give them proper credit.

Quarter Century Operator's Club

This year I would also like to make you aware of a little known award that may be of interest to many of you. The Water Environment Federation (WEF) gives special recognition to members who have been associated with the organization for 25 or more years. This is a very prestigious award and those special members should be recognized for their longstanding service to the organization. If you feel that you qualify for this award or know someone you would like to nominate please go to the following link to learn more. The award would be presented at the AWEA awards luncheon in Hot Springs by a representative from WEF.
