Arkansas winner of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize.

The Arkansas Water Environment Association (AWEA) presented Abhilasha Gokulan with a special plaque for her work on an environmental science project.
The purpose of the SJWP is to increase students’ interest in water-related issues and research, and to sensitize them – as future leaders- to global water challenges. The competition for the SJWP award is open to projects aimed at improving the quality of life through improvement of water quality, water resources management, water protection or water and wastewater treatment.
The U.S. Stockholm Junior Water Prize is sponsored by the Water Environment Federation (WEF) www.wef.org, with support from ITT Industries and The Coca-Cola Company. WEF is a not-for-profit technical and educational services organization dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of the global water environment.
